STOP THE TRAFFIK

STOP THE TRAFFIK

STOP THE TRAFFIK IS…

a global movement of ordinary activists from around the world who believe that PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE BOUGHT AND SOLD. We believe that when people act things change, join us today to STOP THE TRAFFIK!

TRAFFICKING IS…

to be deceived or taken against your will, bought, sold and transported into slavery.

‘I believe that the Stop the Traffik Coalition has the potential to provide significant impetus to the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking’

A report out in May 2009 showed that 325 children have been identified as victims of trafficking in the UK. Victims came from 52 countries, particularly China, the UK, Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Romania (That’s British children being trafficking in and around Britain thus highlighting trafficking is not just a ‘foreign’ problem or something affecting other people somewhere else)

We are raising awareness of people traffiking, it does not just happen in other countries, its happening here, right now. Here at the Festival of Leisure, Swadlincote, June 09 we are hand painting, the symbol of ‘Stop the Traffik’, and handing out cards to help you spot the tell tale signs of someone who may have been traffiked in our community. Together we can fight this human injustice and make our communities a more just place to be!
